Fine Arts Supporting Fine Television
This year's Rhode Island PBS Arts Auction begins online on October 13, 2008. That's when you'll be able to bid on the beautiful art objects being previewed now, as well as the ones we'll be adding as they arrive. Remember, your high bids support fine Public Television programming for all of southern New England.
The Auction will be televised live, the evenings of November 12 - 14, 2008. Although you'll be watching the Arts Auction on TV, all items will be sold online. Once you have pre-registered, you'll be able to place your bids using this website or by calling the Auction.
1) All bids are taken online:
Even if you're watching the auction on TV and call to place a bid, our volunteer operators will enter your bid via computer. Calling remains a handy option if Internet access is slow or unavailable when you're ready to bid, or if you'd just rather pick up the phone and talk with a person. But the fastest way to bid is over your own, high-speed Internet connection!
2) Pre-registering early speeds up the process:
You need to be registered as a bidder before the system will accept your bid. This is true even if you have an express bid number. Taking a few moments to register early (either online or by calling in during the televised auction) saves time when an item is about to close and you want to bid as time is running out!
ARTISTS/GALLERIES: Donate to the auction, get valuable publicity in return:
We need your donations to sell and raise money for the station's programming fund - and we appreciate your support. Most donated artworks will be showcased during our televised auction and all donations being sold will be presented on this website. Each item's dedicated webpage can include a link back to as many as three webpages featuring your work.
Show your support, and gain valuable publicity, by clicking on the "Donate Items" button at left to contribute to our catalog.
Refer a Friend
Spread the word. The more items we offer the more successful our fundraiser will be. Click on the "Refer Friends" button to give others the chance to get involved and have your name appear in our "Top Referrers" list.
